Late Night MBTA Service Begins March 28th
In an effort to make the City of Boston more desirable to the younger generation, the MBTA is testing late night hours for the MBTA. Boston’s public transportation system until now has ended service at 1am. With this new initiative, weekend service will run until 3am on Saturday and Sunday mornings) with last trains leaving downtown at 2:30am. This is beneficial to night-owls at local bars as bars are forced to shut doors at 2am, also a time which is likely to be extended shortly. A test for that is in the works.
As for the T service, all lines of the subway system and key bus routes will all be included in this late night service. Many hope these hours are here to stay. Previous attempts at late night hours failed, but in the last instance over 9 years ago, buses were used instead of the subway lines. This service has promise and hopefully will hopefully help alleviate taxi shortages and instances of intoxicated driving.
All of our short-term apartment locations are easily accessible to the lines of the MBTA subway system. For more information on our short-term rentals, give us a call today.
